Why are you doing this? I was searching through what seemed to be the ever diminishing pool of male resources online in my community, encountered an ad asking for pictures of toes, and rather than throwing my hands up in despair, decided to do something different.
Do you hate men? Absolutely not. I love men. Some of the greatest mentors, teachers, and resources in my life have been men, not to mention my best friends.
Do you hate online dating? No. I think online dating is a truly amazing tool for busy working people like me to use to (potentially) connect serendipitously with a perfect match that we might otherwise not encounter. Of course, it's only one of the tools in my dating drawer, but I think it has nearly limitless potential.
Are you making fun of these guys? Yes. And no. This isn't about bitterness and spite, it's about using funny examples to teach. My goal is to highlight the way people sabotage their opportunities to meet likeminded souls online. If you read long enough, hopefully you will avoid making these same mistakes. And, if you do, maybe I'll find you.
I also love highlighting the absurdities of returning to the dating pool at age 41, a process that constantly exasperates, amuses, frustrates, and exhilerates me.
How long will you keep doing this? As long as it keeps me laughing. I want all of my wrinkles to be smile lines.
